Above and Beyond Recognition

Charlene Shores has been recognized for work done “Above and Beyond.”
Charlene is a Shelter Care Counselor at the Children’s Receiving Home. Charlene was nominated by Ellen Bucci, Social Worker Supervisor, for her energy, passion and deep concern for the youth at the Children’s Receiving Home. Ellen stated that the main focus of Charlene’s work has been in the area of education, “spending countless hours in the kitchen, tutoring and supporting youth in their homework and lesson plans.” She further stated that Charlene “helps bridge the gap between their often sporadic past educational history, and enhances their confidence to catch up with their studies,” while providing a “supportive environment.”
Beyond working with children for the last 30 years, twenty of those years with the Children’s Receiving Home, Charlene has been a trainer and a role model to countless new counselors and social workers on what is “necessary to make a difference in the lives of the youth people.”
Congratulations! Charlene, you are truly and inspiration to your co-workers. Charlene received a nomination to the County’s Employee of the Month Program. Keep up the great work!
